I’m Lola and I’m so glad you’re here!

Hey, I’m Lola—the voice behind Lola Recommends. I created this space for anyone who’s ever looked in the mirror, felt frustrated with their weight, or just wanted to feel good in their own skin.

Like many of you, I’ve struggled with my weight for years. My journey started in high school and I know what it’s like to bounce between diets, hit plateaus and get lost in all the conflicting “expert” advice out there. At my heaviest during the COVID lockdown I knew something had to change. That’s when I committed to walking 20,000 steps a day, eating low-carb meals and slowly but surely the weight started coming off.

When I hit a plateau and the scale wouldn’t budge I turned to intermittent fasting and the keto diet, and that’s when things really clicked. To date I’ve lost over 65 pounds and more importantly I’ve gained confidence, energy and a healthier relationship with food.

Books like The Obesity Code and Fast Like a Girl inspired me to dig deeper into the science behind weight loss and healthy living. And through that process I realized something: this journey doesn’t have to be complicated. You don’t need the latest fad or magic pill—you just need the right tools, a little knowledge and someone who gets it.

That’s why I started Lola Recommends: to simplify your wellness journey. Here you’ll find practical weight loss tips, keto and carnivore meal ideas, healthy habits that actually stick and product recommendations that make life easier (yes I share affiliate links but only to things I truly trust and love).

My goal is simple: to share what’s worked for me in a way that feels encouraging, doable and real—so you can start making progress without feeling overwhelmed.

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s this:
